Very nice for re-heating March 12, 2010 B. Ferm (San Diego, CA USA) I have a small kitchen and my huge microwave just took up too much space. Plus I'm switching to stainless appliances, and I use a microwave only for re-heating, so this little Sharp was just the thing. Buttons are responsive, door opens easily, and beeper is quieter than most. Super small and super price!
Major Disappointment March 8, 2010 P. Silva (New York, NY) It arrived to me dented. The material is very low quality. I still wanted to give it a chance however, one day my husband was making popcorn on the popcorn setting and as soon as it was ready and he opened the door to remove, there was a very loud sound and when we went to see what the noise was and to find the plate inside the microwave had split in half!! I've owned countless microwaves in the past and nothing like this has ever happened to me or to anyone that I know. I normally don't make comments online but I thought to inform the next potential buyer. Very surprised at SHARP.
Just Look's only! March 3, 2010 T. Bye (Southern California) Thought this would be ideal in our kitchen a stainless steel microwave made by Sharp. Not even out of the box more than 45 minutes, re-packaged it and returned it! after speaking to Sharp's customer service, that was a dead end. 1. No panel light or illumination for read out. 2. Turned it on and had a loud vibration noise. 3.Once started could not stop or turn it off,had to unplug from the wall. this was poor quality and not worth the money. I ended up buying a Panasonic Microwave 0.8 Cu-Foot what a difference this unit removes all doubt and really well worth the dollar!
A Fine Microwave: How to remove the glue January 30, 2010 G. Zhang (San Jose, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Sharp R-216LS is a fine microwave.
Bad: the inside light is too dark to be any use. A bright LED light would be good.
Bad: the door sticker glue. You may use a hair dryer to warm up the glue and rub it off with wet cloth. But it will alter the plastic finish.
"Glue from hell" solution - baby oil. January 11, 2010 PixieMom (Seattle, WA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I also ran into the "glue from hell" problem. Fortunately I was aware of this from previous reviews, so I did not try my usual next choice: denatured alcohol. I did some online search and somebody suggested baby oil, which worked like a charm. The only down side is cleaning the baby oil off the front afterwards. Overall this microwave feels "clank-ier" than my previous Sharp carousel, and the buttons are harder to push.
